Privacy
Last updated October 8, 2026.
Sunday Afternoon is designed so that the information you record stays with you.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Worktree Labs LLC ("Worktree Labs", "we" or "us") handles information in connection with the Sunday Afternoon app for iPhone ("Sunday Afternoon"). Worktree Labs operates no servers for Sunday Afternoon, and does not collect, receive, store or process any information about the people who use it.
Information We Collect
We do not collect any information from you through Sunday Afternoon. You do not create an account with us, Sunday Afternoon does not ask you to create a password, and nothing in Sunday Afternoon identifies you to Worktree Labs. We have no way to know who uses Sunday Afternoon or what they record in it.
In the course of using Sunday Afternoon, you may choose to record information about the person you care for and about the people caring for them, such as names, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, photos, tasks, visits, appointments, contact details for doctors, bills, occasions, notes and a record of who did what. You may also record health details, such as medications and doses, conditions, allergies, a pharmacy, where an advance directive is kept, notes for a doctor, the reason for an appointment and a doctor's specialty. All of this information is stored on your own iPhone and, if you use the Family plan, in the personal iCloud account of the person who set up the family, as described below. None of it is transmitted to Worktree Labs, and we cannot access it.
How Your Information Is Stored
Information you record in Sunday Afternoon is stored on your iPhone, in Sunday Afternoon's own storage, protected by the encryption iOS applies to app data. If you turn on Sunday Afternoon's lock, iOS checks your Face ID, Touch ID or passcode and tells Sunday Afternoon only whether the check passed. If your iPhone is backed up to iCloud, that backup includes Sunday Afternoon's data, as it does for any app.
If you use the Family plan and invite other caretakers, the information you share is also stored in the iCloud account of the person who set up the family and shared, through Apple's CloudKit, with the people they invite. That information remains in the family owner's iCloud account. Worktree Labs has no server and cannot read any of it. Apple's terms and privacy policy govern that storage.
Notes that caretakers write to one another about a visit, an appointment or an occasion are end-to-end encrypted. They are encrypted on the iPhone they are written on, before they reach iCloud, with keys kept in iCloud Keychain and shared only with the people the family owner has invited, so neither Apple nor Worktree Labs can read them. The other information you share, such as names, tasks and bills, is protected by the encryption Apple applies to information stored in iCloud.
Because of Apple's policy on the storage of health data, Sunday Afternoon cannot share health information between family members at this time. This is something we are working on. Health details remain on the iPhone they were entered on unless you choose to share them yourself, for example by sending a care summary, and another caretaker's iPhone shows only a line saying so. When you mark a medication as given, the other caretakers receive only a record that you were with the person you care for that day, and when. The medication itself is not shared. Please note that anything typed into a shared field, such as a task title, a bill or a note, is shared like the rest of that record, so health details should be kept in the places Sunday Afternoon provides for them.
Third-Party Services
Sunday Afternoon relies on a small number of services provided by Apple. Where information leaves your iPhone, it goes to Apple, not to Worktree Labs, and is subject to Apple's privacy policy.
Address search. When you look up an address, a pharmacy or a practice, what you type and the location of the home are sent to Apple Maps to find matches.
Subscriptions. Apple processes Family plan subscriptions through the App Store. We never see your payment details. So that everyone in a family can use one subscription, the subscriber's iPhone places Apple's signed record of the purchase and its renewal in the family's shared iCloud data, together with which family member holds the plan. That record includes the plan, its dates and Apple's transaction identifiers. It does not include payment details.
Notifications. Notifications are created and shown on your iPhone. Nothing is sent from a server operated by Worktree Labs, because there is none.
Camera and text recognition. If you choose to scan a prescription label or a bill, Sunday Afternoon uses your iPhone's camera, or a photo you pick from your library, and Apple's text recognition reads the text in the photo on your iPhone to fill in the form for you to check. The photo is not saved by Sunday Afternoon, and neither the photo nor the text read from it is sent to Apple or to Worktree Labs. Nothing is recorded until you save the form, and what you save is stored like anything else you record in Sunday Afternoon.
Analytics, Advertising and Tracking
Sunday Afternoon contains no analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind. We do not sell or share your information. Nothing you record in Sunday Afternoon reaches Worktree Labs, so none of it is read by a person at Worktree Labs or processed by an AI model on our behalf. When you choose to scan a label or a bill, the photo is read by Apple's text recognition, a machine learning feature of iOS that runs on your iPhone.
Health Information
Sunday Afternoon is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and is not an emergency service. Worktree Labs is not a health care provider, health plan or other covered entity under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and HIPAA does not apply to Sunday Afternoon. Health details you enter are protected by the fact that they remain on your iPhone.
Data Retention and Deletion
When you delete a task, visit, appointment, bill or provider in Sunday Afternoon, it is removed. Deleting a task also removes the record of each time it was completed, and deleting a task, visit or appointment also removes the plans and notes caretakers added to it. In a shared family, these records are removed from the family owner's iCloud account and from the other caretakers' iPhones when they next sync. The family's history may continue to show short entries that name a deleted item, such as the entry recording who deleted it. Archiving a task or a family instead keeps it on your iPhone.
When a caretaker is removed from a family, their entry and the details entered for them, such as their phone number, email address, address, notes and photo, are removed, and records of what they did show them as a former caretaker. History entries written while they were part of the family may still include their name. If the caretaker joined the family on their own iPhone, their entry is hidden rather than removed until the person who set up the family also removes their access.
A loved one can be deleted from their page in Sunday Afternoon. Deleting a loved one removes them, together with their tasks, completion records, appointments, bills, providers, alerts and the history entries about them, for everyone in the family. Visits are not tied to one person, so they remain unless they are deleted or the whole family is deleted. Deleting the only loved one in a family you set up deletes the family, including its shared data in your iCloud account, and ends sharing for everyone. Only the person who set up a family can delete a loved one. A caretaker who joined a family can leave it instead.
The account page in Sunday Afternoon includes Delete all tasks and calendar entries. It removes every task and its completion records, every appointment and visit, and the plans and notes for occasions from each family on your list that you are able to edit, for everyone in those families. Loved ones, caretakers, bills and providers are kept. Deleting a loved one and deleting all tasks and calendar entries cannot be undone.
The person who set up a shared family can remove a caretaker's access or stop sharing, and a caretaker can leave a family at any time. A caretaker whose access is removed, or whose family is no longer shared, keeps a read-only copy of what was shared on their iPhone until they delete Sunday Afternoon, and that copy no longer receives changes, including deletions. Health details exist only on the iPhone they were entered on, and are deleted there or when the shared family they belong to is deleted as described next. If you use Sunday Afternoon on more than one iPhone with the same Apple Account, deleting a shared family you set up on one of them also deletes it from the others, including the health details entered on them, when Sunday Afternoon next syncs there. A family that has never been shared exists only on the iPhone where it was set up, and on an iPhone restored from that iPhone's backup. Copies of deleted information may remain in iPhone or iCloud backups made before the deletion. The shared copy remains in the family owner's iCloud account until the family is deleted in Sunday Afternoon or its data is deleted in iCloud settings (Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage). Deleting Sunday Afternoon from an iPhone removes the data stored on that iPhone. Worktree Labs holds no copy of your information, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what information a company holds about you and to have it corrected or deleted. Because Worktree Labs holds no information about you, and because every record in Sunday Afternoon is directly available to you on your own device, you can review and correct it yourself within the app, and delete it as described above. If you would like confirmation in writing, you can reach us through our support page.
Children's Privacy
Sunday Afternoon is intended for adults looking after someone. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will publish the updated policy on this website and in Sunday Afternoon, and update the date at the top of this page, before the change takes effect.
